The Genius of the 20th Century

  Atatürk wasa genius not only for Turkish people but also for the whole word. What mad ehim a genius? The reforms in social, cultural and political fields he carried out.

  After the big victory aganist a lot of countries, Atatürk declared the new system of our country, Independent Republic, on 29th October, 1923. he also declared his and Turkey’s principles: Republicanism, Populism, Secularism, Reformism, Nationalism, Statism. This was the first reform of Atatürk in the field of politics. He believed that democracy was the ideal system for our country. So, he started the parliamentary system. Moreover, he gave women the right to vote and people could vote for them, too. It was a big improvement fort hat time not only in Turkey but also in the whole world.

  The big war started again. Atatürk turned the face of Turkey towards the Civilized World. He gave big importance to education. Because he wanted all the citizens of the country to go school and to learn science, literature, arts, music and tecnology. Atatürk also cared much about girls’ education. He thought that nations could only develop with the efforts of women and men together in the country. He also changed the old dressing style to the modern one.

  Music, arts and sports were very important for him, too. He made many changes in these fields and peole started to be interested in music, art and sports in a short time

  Atatürk was a soilder and also a peaceful leader. He made good relationships with a lot of countries and began to co-operate in many ways.

  Atatürk was a real patriot, humanist and reformer. These were other aspects of his genius.
